MullenLowe Romania becomes the co-pilot of Flight Festival in communicating the first edutainment festival in South-Eastern Europe Posted on

Bucharest, April 28, 2022

Music, art, and technology combine in a unique cultural-artistic event in South-Eastern Europe. Flight Festival opened its doors four years ago to create in Timisoara the first edutainment festival in this region of Europe. This year, the festival returns between August 26 – September 11 with 17 days of music, technology, theater, film, and new media art, a mix that will take place on the Cioaca Aerodrome, the banks of the Bega River, Iulius Garden, and several other locations in Timisoara.

MullenLowe Romania is the communication partner of Flight Festival and will sign the advertising campaign for this year’s edition. The MullenLowe team will provide creative and digital services and develop the communication strategy to contribute to Flight Festival’s goal of putting Timisoara on the map of festivals in Europe. Golin and Initiative Romania will complete the communication mix and ensure the online visibility of the festival, both on social media and in the press.

Ovidiu Megan – Flight Festival representative: “With each edition, we aim to bring to Timisoara internationally representative names from film, theater, and music, but also local emerging artists, and to offer a different experience, whose core is the mix of art and technology, the two pillars of the bid book with which the city of Timisoara won the competition for the European Capital of Culture, staged in perfect balance. We want to offer the participants the best environment to interact with the latest tech solutions, take part in famous film screenings, and meet their favorite artists, all under the FLIGHT sign and in the <<light>> of Timisoara. We have big plans, and we wanted a partner to match the activities we are preparing for this year. MullenLowe has proved creativity and a fine sense of understanding of our goals, reflected through the proposed actions and of the way of translating the Flight Festival’s mission into an integrated communication campaign. We are excited to start our plans for this year together.”

Andra Panaitescu, Client Service Director, Mullen: “Flight Festival is the perfect example of an inspiring project, built with a passion for people and a city with rich history as Timisoara. We are glad to be part of its story, and we are ready to start together the journey of transforming the event into the place to be for this region. We are preparing many activities for this year, which will highlight the uniqueness of the festival and all the components of its program – film, theater, tech, new media art and music, a multiverse of these disciplines.”

About Flight Festival

Flight Festival was born in 2019 as a music, art and technology festival developed by the organizers in the context in which the city of Timisoara will host the European Capital of Culture in 2023. The objective of the festival is to introduce as many participants as possible to the fascinating world of the cultural phenomenon and to position the city of Timisoara on the map of the relevant festivals in Europe. In the context of the pandemic, Flight Festival was one of the few large-scale cultural events in Romania that was not canceled but reinvented itself to be able to offer the spectators, under maximum safety conditions, the joy of participating to a festival.

The event is organized by the Flight Foundation in Timisoara with the support of local authorities and of the business partners (George by BCR, Aptiv, Continental, Hella, Nokia, Heineken, Vodafone, and many others).
