Culture, architecture, museums, traditions, and dishes with true and authentic Romanian taste that for many of us means more than any international cuisine: in 2019 all the roads took us to Sibiu, the first city in Romania named the cultural capital of Europe, which was also named 2019’s European Gastronomic Region.
Here, in the center of Sibiu, Lidl and MullenLowe Romania built Casa Lidl, the place where visitors discover the diversity and history of Romanian gastronomy, find out about old forgotten traditions, and learn about local crafts. To sum up the story: four months of activations with almost 30 events and 200 hours of workshops.
Casa Lidl welcomed its first guests on June 15, 2019. Its host, Boier Bibescu, a character brought to life by MullenLowe Romania, was created according to the traditional Romanian type: a kind-hearted man who does anything in his power so that his guests will feel welcomed in his house.
